Operations and Schedule of Application for Direct Admission to Doctoral Program for Fall Semester 2025

• 一、申請對象:
  1. 陽明交通大學、清華大學、政治大學之學士班應屆畢業生（含申請提前畢業學生）（大學生可以逕讀博士班，不必先念碩士。）
  2. 陽明交通大學、清華大學、政治大學之之碩士班生
  Article 1. Applicants:
  1. Undergraduate students of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, National Tsing Hua University and National Chengchi University who graduate in the current year (including those who apply to graduate early).
  2. Master students of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, National Tsing Hua University and National Chengchi University.

• 二、申請:
  1. 報名：2026/6/1~6/17
  2. 請檢具「陽明交通大學逕行修讀博士學位申請表」、含名次之大學成績單與碩士班學業成績單、自傳及研習計畫各一篇、兩封副教授以上推薦函，以及其他有利審查之資料如獎項、論文發表等送交物理所所辦。
  3. 清華大學、政治大學之碩士班生，申請表須指導教授及系所主管簽章。(學士班應屆畢業生免簽章)
  Article 2. Application:
  1. Application period: June 1 ~ June 17, 2026
  2. Please submit to Institute Office of IOP “National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University Application Form of Direct Admission to Doctoral Program”, transcript for all semesters of undergraduate and master program with ranking, one autobiography, one statement of purpose, 2 letters of recommendation by associate professors or above, and other useful supporting documents such as rewards, published papers, and so on.
  3. Application forms submitted by master students of National Tsing Hua University and National Chengchi University should have the signature of their advisors and directors of the department/institute (the signature is not necessary for undergraduate students who graduate in the current year).

題目：New Frontiers in Characterizing Exoplanet Atmospheres

摘要：

Exoplanet science has made remarkable progress. With advancements in high-resolution spectroscopy and the launch of JWST, the field has transitioned from detection to detailed atmospheric characterization.
The diversity of exoplanets presents intriguing puzzles that challenge our theoretical understanding.
In this talk, I will review progress in exoplanet research, with an emphasis on atmospheric characterization. I will highlight some recent JWST observations, including the first evidence of photochemistry on an exoplanet. I will present the enigmatic nature of intermediate-sized planets and share insights from our recent study on temperate sub-Neptunes. I will conclude with key open questions in exoplanet characterization that are within reach of upcoming capabilities.
